And I had a great experience. 1. Two inspectors, David and Kyle, came out and they were punctual. I got there 3 minutes early, but they were already there with all their equipment ready to go. 2. They thoroughly inspected everything from the attic down to the basement, inside and out. 3. They were both professional but also approachable. They happily answered all my questions, gave me tips on how to operate certain appliances and how to maintain different parts of the home. 4. The inspector, David Haigh, arrived at the residence early and started the exterior portion of the inspection and when we arrived at the appropriate time, he was wrapping up and about ready to head inside. This helped us get the most out of the time we made available for the inspection.Throughout the process, David took the time to point out areas for concern vs things that were just cosmetic. Everything we touched on was photographed and written up in comprehensive inspection report. This allowed us to focus on the truly important asks back to the sellers and minimized any back and forth through the deal. In the end, we felt better that the house we were purchasing didn't have any major skeletons in the closet and that all safety items were being considered and that was balanced without having to disrupt the momentum of the deal.In the end, I fully recommend David and Garden State Home Inspectors. Each time, I have been so pleased with the company's professionalism, responsiveness, and timeliness. Dave is truly excellent at his job and so thorough. He even has a drone that he can fly over the house to get visualization of the roof/chimney! He works quickly and efficiently, but leaves no stone un-turned. He is also kind and easy to speak with as he teaches you about the home. He is calm and not alarmist about findings and very concise about whether a finding is truly a serious issue, less of an issue/cosmetic, or more FYI for home maintenance. The inspection report is easy to read and understand and makes it very easy to generate a request document for any repairs needed to a home prior to closing. David is very knowledgeable in all areas of home construction/maintance. He was very thorough even thought it was a fairly new home...he didn't leave any area uncovered.
